The chemtrail conspiracy theory is wrong

Chemtrails (is long lines of thin clouds trailing planes can be seen in the sky with the right weather conditions, sometimes long after an aircraft has disappeared from view) are what some call the white trails you see left behind as a plane passes overhead. These clouds are contrails, and are the result of water vapour emitted from planes condensing in freezing temperatures, leaving behind “thin trails of ice crystals”.Ever since the US Air Force published a paper in 1996 about the hypothetical harnessing of weather for military objectives, a shadowy global aviation conspiracy has spread among online communities.Believers in the chemical aspect of chemtrails say those trails are actually clouds of chemicals used by the government or someother large scale entity for a variety of nefarious purposes from weather modification, to human population control via sterilization, to even mind control. The chemtrail conspiracy theory usually claim that normal jet plane output should dissipate quickly so any clouds that do not disappear immediately must be full of additional, undisclosed substances. Chemtrail theories are not only a U.S.-based phenomena—almost 17% of respondents in an international survey noted a belief in the existence of a “secret large scale atmospheric program” to be at least partly true.

The claim has been dismissed by the scientific community. There is no evidence that purported chemtrails differ from normal water-based contrails routinely left by high-flying aircraft under certain atmospheric conditions.Although proponents have tried to prove that chemical spraying occurs, their analyses have been flawed or based on misconceptions. Because of the persistence of the conspiracy theory and questions about government involvement, scientists and government agencies around the world have repeatedly explained that the supposed chemtrails are in fact normal contrails.
