When opened, the chat window may expand across the site page quite a distance depending on what screen resolution you are running at, so viewing videos or reading articles, blogs, etc. may be a challenge while chatting. The chat window can either be minimized or can be launched in a new window, but cannot be resized. (See pop-up feature below)

If someone invites you to a private chat, a little window will open telling you who wants a private chat with the option to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’. If you say no the requestor gets a message stating ‘user declined’.
Click on a name in the list on the right and click on ‘view profile’; a new window or tab will launch with the selected member's profile.
In the grey area below the chat box is a speaker icon. Click on it and you will see 2 sound waves appear next to the icon like this ))
Now when someone posts a message to the chat window, you will hear a beep. This is a great feature to use if you multi-task (watch video or read a blog or discussion)
Click it again to toggle it on or off.
Once logged in, you show up in the chat list as indicated by a green button at the far right of the chat bar.
To remove yourself from the chat list, click on the green button next to the figure icon on the chat bar. It will turn to red and within minutes, you will be offline for chat but still remain logged into the site. Click it again, it will turn green, and your name will appear in the chat list.
PLEASE NOTE: You cannot view or participatte in the chat unless you are online.
This is where the angled arrow topped with a solid line on the chat bar comes in handy. Click on it and a pop up window opens which can be moved easily. Now you can read or watch videos and chat at the same time.
