i-Openers

Recently found out another forum post I made had it's video content source removed by YT. Some of you may be familiar with the Obama-Bilderberg vid in question - about 5 minutes of reporters questioning why they were being sky-napped (so Obama & Hillary could meet up with the infamous Bilderberg Group.)

Well, quickly found another YouTube source and pulled the original vid right away using an online service I often do before that one got purged as well.

As an aside, thought I'd share these resources with all of you.

VConversion - http://www.vconversion.com/
Online video conversion tool taht will pull video from sources such as google video, youtube, etc and prepare them for your download in a number of different formats (mpg, mov, wmv, flv, etc)

Vixy - http://vixy.net/
Another online video conversion tool quite similar to VConversion with a few less format options, a slightly faster process and some formats outside the scope of VConversion (divx avi for example)

Hope that helps some of you. Please feel free to add your own resources by commenting below.

Ah, those only work for YouTube videos, right?

VConversion, yes,... not certain about Vixy, ....

VideoCodeZone ( http://www.videocodezone.com/conversion.php ) does however allow multi-site conversions from sources such as YouTube (youtube.com), Google (video.google.com), DailyMotion (dailymotion.com), IFilm (ifilm.com), MySpace (myspace.com), MetaCafe (metacafe.com) & Break (break.com).

KeepVid - ( http://keepvid.com/ )
Another alternative that allows access to numerous sites but seemingly only offers the originating flv file (which is fine for upload or through an FLV viewer) or mp4 format (for iPod consumption) as a download option.

http://www.mediaconverter.org/
Allows you to upload flv format directly from pc and convert to other file format... Handy!

at the Upload Video Page here it says:
"How it works
Files must be 100MB or smaller. We support .mov, .mpg, .avi, .3gp and .wmv file formats."

I uploaded in .flv and it worked. Thanks for the link Smokescreen :)

Drach,
Another streaming online video converter is located @ http://www.converttube.com/

Seems to work pretty well... (I'll stick to doing the conversions @ home, personally since I have more flexible exporting options here... but this is for the infrequent/ frequent user)
